How should you position your baby?

Recommended by the W.H.O. (World Health Organization), the best sleeping position for children under one year old is on their back. This position has drastically reduced the number of deaths from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) (- 76% since the early 1990s). Lying this way, your baby's face stays completely clear and there is no risk of suffocation.

Preventing plagiocephaly

This recommendation, which should be followed, does however have some negative effects that you can counter by being well equipped: plagiocephaly. Until the age of one, a baby's head is very soft and malleable. By spending many hours sleeping on their back, part of their skull can flatten: this is known as flat head syndrome.
