1- To cover the baby
When the baby goes out in the stroller, place the muslin cloth over their little legs to avoid contact with drafts. Baby has fallen asleep on the journey? Lightly cover the top of the stroller with your muslin cloth so the light does not disturb the baby’s sleep (leave a small window for air to circulate) inside the stroller. The muslin cloth is magical, it fits perfectly where you need it. You can also use it as a fitted sheet to complete the bedding and protect the mattress.
2- After the bath
The muslin cloth is very absorbent, which makes it ideal after the bath to dry the baby’s delicate skin in addition to the towel. It is very soft and comforting, it will dry your little one’s skin smoothly. After use, it is recommended to wash it for better hygiene. You can also use it at the beach or the pool ;-)
3- To swaddle the baby
Swaddling the baby is a technique practised for generations, intended to calm the baby and help them sleep better. The soft fabric of the muslin cloth allows you to swaddle your baby gently, giving comfort and warmth. When swaddled, the baby regains the foetal position, recreating the sense of security they had in their mother’s womb. This prevents them being disturbed by uncontrolled movements of their arms and legs. You can use the muslin cloth to swaddle your baby whatever the season and temperature.
4- Under the sun
We love sunny days, but the baby’s skin must be protected and not exposed directly to the sun’s rays. When you go out with the baby, place a muslin cloth over the top of the stroller or its infant car seat, without covering it completely. The breathable fabric of the muslin cloth prevents the baby from overheating and keeps them protected from the sun.
5- For breastfeeding the baby
When you breastfeed in public, you need privacy. Put a corner of the muslin cloth under the strap of your bra and place it around your baby. Being covered like this, you will feel calm and comfortable while breastfeeding the baby, even in the presence of others. The breathable fabric of the muslin cloth lets you cover the baby without overheating them.
6- During meals
For burping or as a bib, the muslin cloth will help avoid mess! Put it as a towel on your shoulder after the baby bottle or the feed, this will protect you if the baby brings up milk. This often happens when you hold the baby for a burp.
When the baby is older and starts eating, the muslin cloth will serve as an improvised bib, and to clean the baby’s hands and face. It is useful to have at least two small muslin cloths in your diaper bag.
